The burning question that probably confounds the uninitiated amongst us is the difference between essential and scented oils. Simply put, essential oils are oils that have been extracted from natural sources such as plants and fruits.

Scented oils on the other hand are usually (but not always) their scent. This is probably the biggest difference between essential and scented oils. A point to note is that research has indicated that scented oils, be they “low-grade” essential oils or synthetic scented oils may contribute to certain allergies and asthma.

Aromatherapy is once again gaining popularity in our fast-paced and hectec lives. Not exactly a new fad therapy, some ancient cultures, such as the Egyptians and Romans, treated varying ailments using comparable forms of aromatherapy before the advent of modern medicine when people relied on herbs to treat medical problems.

Today, aromatherapy is seen as a new-age formula to assist us in creating a more relaxed environment whether it is administered using an oil burner or through massage. “I know fish is healthy but I just don’t like it”
If it’s the fishy smell that turns you off, give cod, halibut or flounder a go before writing fish off good. These “lighter” fish are milder that oiler ones such as tuna and salmon. After all, fish is one of the most diet-friendly foods around. A baked piece of fish has about 150 calories and has more protein than a burger and more potassium than a banana. Plus, fish is one of the few sources of omega-3 fatty acids, which help protect your heart and memory. So pick a “lighter” fish and a seasoning you like and chances are, the end product will sit well with you. Coat your fish with olive oil and try baking it alongside herbs like rosemary and parsley. 1. To a Party.
Don’t panic, If you’re not sure what look to go for, choose a basic colour like black. Then, to spice things up a bit, try a dress with detailing like squins or lace. Lastly, add shoes that are the same colour to keep the look together. The idea is to look glam without getting too fussy.

2. To Feel More Feminine.
An easy way to make a difference is to add shoes with a small heel to your usual pair of jeans. A kitten heel is perfect – it’ll give you an instant lift and make you feel more feminine. Then try a ruffle shirt for a sophisticated-but-cool look. (more…)

1. Pulling all your hair back from the front to tie a tight ponytail.
