Aromatherapy For Mind, Body And Spirit

Smells So Good! Let your mind and body embark on a scent-sensational experience

Aromatherapy is once again gaining popularity in our fast-paced and hectec lives. Not exactly a new fad therapy, some ancient cultures, such as the Egyptians and Romans, treated varying ailments using comparable forms of aromatherapy before the advent of modern medicine when people relied on herbs to treat medical problems.

Today, aromatherapy is seen as a new-age formula to assist us in creating a more relaxed environment whether it is administered using an oil burner or through massage. Relax after a long day’s work in the bath or your favorite chair surrounded by the aromatic waft of soothing lavender or relaxing camomile. Soak the tension out of your muscles simply by adding a few drops of essential oil in the tub, or gently douse the bedroom with your favorite scent.
Hardly expensive, or cumbersome to prepare, aromatherapy accessories and know-how can be picked up quickly and conveniently all around us.

A Helpful Jolt For Mind, Body And Spirit
The effects of aromatherapy will vary depending on the oil used; some ouls are believed to relieve sinuses, relieve stress or relieve pain in the joints. How this works, no one knows for sure but aroma therapists believe that the practice of aromatherapy can affect more than just your sense of smell
Some of the effects are based on the chemistry of the essential ouls and how they react with our body (through massage). Other effects are more of the spiritual nature, where people believe that spiritual power is released when the oils are blended together to assist mind, body and spirit, Whether this is true is a matter of personal opinion. Although, we live in a world steeped in technological advances, the power of aroma may not be fully understood even by modern science.
In theory, aromas may have the potential to heal, as we are aware that our emotions can alter things like heart rate, pulse and blood pressure, so it is safe to say that aromas lift our moods and may rejuvenate the body.

The more common method of administering aromatherapy is by using an oil burner. Using the burner is rather straight forward. Just fill the dish of the oil burner with some water and add a few drops of essential oil into the dish before lighting the candle. Other than the perceived medicinal benefits of aromatherapy, people use aromatherapy to mask odors or to just freshen up the interior of the home with a pleasant scent. Electric burners are no different from the ones that use candles. However, one has to exercise caution when using burners of any kind.
